Joshua Hanson

Candidate for: Illinois Secretary of State

Personal Bio: Josh has been an supporter of limited government since he first discovered politics in 2nd grade, and has actively fought for it ever since. He attended Wheaton College where he studied Political Science, and is a passionate student of economics in his spare time. He attends Korean West Alliance Church in Warrenville, IL and currently resides in Wheaton, IL.

Qualifications: Josh currently works as a Project Coordinator in a customer service department (experience that helps him understand the changes needed to improve the Department of Motor Vehicles). Josh is also a member of Campaign For Liberty, has served as Chair of the DuPage Libertarians, and was named "Rookie of the Year" in 2009 by the Libertarian Party of Illinois.

Why running: Politicians in Illinois have a tendency to argue about what color to paint the shutters when they should be working together to clean the house. Illinois has real problems, and until we elect officials who understand that they are not overseers but servants of the people, we will continue to get the kind of government Illinoisans have come to expect over the past few years.

We will have a breakfast meet and greet with the Libertarian Party candidates for the 2010 election season. Each candidate will make a short presentation then take direct questions for about five minutes. Once all candidates have spoken we will open the floor for further questions as time permits.

Libertarian Party candidates forum

We will hold a candidates forum for the Libertarian Party slate. Each candidate will give a short presentation then take direct questions for about five minutes. Once all candidates have made their presentation we will open the floor for general questions as time permits. We will have the Illinois room in the Holmes Student Center at NIU in DeKalb from 1 PM until 4 PM for this event.
